Atlas Elevator Inspection Service, Inc. was founded by Eddie Jackson in 1994 to meet the newly enacted State of Texas requirements for QEI Inspections & Safety Testing.  Atlas became incorporated in 1995. According to the legislation, "Owners of real property" are required to have all vertical transportation equipment safety tests witnessed by a QEI certified inspector. Both hydraulic and electric elevators, as well as escalators, moving walks and wheel chair lifts for public use in the State of Texas must be inspected and tested annually.  In addition, electric elevators must have a full load weight test every five years. Atlas is an independent company and not under contract with service companies, eliminating the possibility of "conflict of interest". We work in close conjunction with Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), and stay updated on the latest code implementations and revisions. Since its inception, Atlas has been known for quality service at competitive rates.
